North College Hill Police will respond to requests for vehicle unlock assistance only if a child, elderly or injured person or animal is locked inside a car. The North College Hill Police Department does not provide vehicle unlock or jump start services. Because of enhanced door construction, side airbags, plastic interior door components and sophisticated electronic systems, our ability to enter a vehicle using a simple tool no longer exists.

If the check was returned for non-sufficient funds, before filing a report, you must send the issuer of the check a letter (sent certified mail – return receipt requested via U.S. Postal Service) stating your intention to prosecute unless payment is made within 10 calendar days from receipt of this letter. Why are the tickets for parking in a handicapped spot so expensive?

Persons with disabilities that limit or impair their ability to walk may request special permits or license placards for their vehicle (approval subject to Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle qualifications-http://bmv.ohio.gov). In order to accommodate these persons, special parking locations have been designated in business and government parking facilities. Due to the significant hardship imposed upon disabled persons when a non-qualified person parks a motor vehicle in one of these designated parking locations, the Ohio legislature has created significant fines to deter this conduct.

How do I get the Radar Trailer on my street?

The North College Hill Police Department Traffic Safety Section places the radar trailer at various locations in the city to remind motorists of their speed. The radar trailer is placed in those locations we have determined to be a targeted enforcement area (TEA) needing special attention. If you believe you know of an area that could benefit from the radar trailer, call 513-521-7171 and tell the officer or leave a message to the Traffic Section.

I know of a serious traffic safety issue in the city, what do I do?

The North College Hill Police Department Traffic Safety Section has a program called Special Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP). The purpose of STEP is the aggressive enforcement of traffic laws and ordinances in those areas and locations we have determined to be a targeted enforcement area (TEA). This is accomplished by a STEP officer (an officer trained in traffic safety skills) being assigned to a Targeted Enforcement Area (TEA) on specific dates and times to target general and specific traffic safety issues. STEP officers will target these areas repeatedly and randomly to eliminate any traffic safety concerns or issues through aggressive enforcement and motorist education programs.

If you know of an area that could benefit from STEP, call 513-521-7171 and leave a message for the Traffic Section or the STEP Coordinator.
